FAQs - First Lesson Assessment
How do I sign up for a 1st lesson assessment?
If it is your/your athlete's first lesson with me I will work with you to schedule an initial assessment. Times available for a first lesson assessment are labeled "Open Time for Any Lesson - Message Gabi." If none of the times I have posted work for you, please contact me and I'll send you some additioanl times.
The purpose of this assessment is to:

teach athletes my warm up exercises

teach athletes arm care exercises

get to know them and their goals

determine which type of lesson group would be best for them
My athlete wants to do lessons with their teammate, or I have 2 athletes interested in lessons with you. Can we do their assessment together?
Yes, if you have somebody you'd like to do the assessment with that it completely fine! Just let me know and we can set it up.
Unfortunately none of your available times work for an assessment. Can we skip that process and just sign up for an open spot?
Please text me if nothing open on my booking calendar works for you. Hitting is harder due to space, but other lesson types I can uaually find a time to get you in.

I want each athlete I coach to have the best experience possible and to do that, I have to make sure that players in groups will have similar skill levels and can safely be in the same group. With that being said, if somebody signs up for an open lesson spot without an assessment I will communicate to them that we need to schedule an assessment and we may have to cancel the spot you signed up for initially.
How do I schedule?

Is there paperwork?
Each player attending is required to have Gabi’s forms completed by a legal parent/guardian. If the Waiver, Release, and Assumption of Risk Form is not completed (for any reason) that athlete will not be able to participate and no exceptions will be made. These forms are available by clicking here to access my file share.
Parents/guardians can email/text a photo of forms to me (email is preferred) or can bring them in person at the time of the event. Paper copies will be available if necessary for legal parents/guardians to fill out right before the event for their athlete(s).

How early should I arrive?
For a 1st lesson assessment I am not able to begin working with athletes until the start time of their lesson since I will be instructing other athletes. Because of this, please come over to the area I am giving lessons that day no more than a couple of minutes prior to your start time.
*I do recommend arriving to the lesson location earlier than that (about 10 minutes) in case there is traffic and to make sure you are at the right spot.

After your assessment I encourage athletes to come 15 minutes early to complete the warm up exercises so we can get as much softball in as possible :)
